Calamity Assistance

Last August 2023, Calumpit was declared under state of calamity due to typhoon Egay and southwest monsoon resulting to flooding in most parts of the town.

As UPPC’s continuous support to the Local Government Unit of Calumpit, the organization aims to maintain good communication and actively participate in a joint partnership by supporting their activity of giving relief goods for the affected families in the community. UPPC donated 30 sacks of rice (50kg/sack) with a total amount of PHP 105,000.

Medical and Dental Mission

As part of its commitment to giving free health care for the communities, UPPC medical and volunteers team together with the Calumpit Rural Health Unit and Barangay officials conducted Medical and Dental Mission on nearby Barangays namely: Iba Este, Palimbang, and Calumpang last Q2 to Q4 2023.

  • Coverage: free medical consultation, blood screening test analysis measuring the glucose, total cholesterol and uric acid, tooth extraction, and medicines.
  • Beneficiaries: senior citizens, adults, and pediatrics 

2023 “Sharing the Dream” Turnover Ceremony

“SCG Sharing the Dream” aspires to help individuals pursue their dreams by providing educational assistance to less fortunate but deserving students.

Last October 19, 2023, educational assistance was awarded to 340 junior/senior high school students; 300 students from Bulacan, Batangas, Taguig, and Manila, and 40 SCG Sharing the Dream alumni. Each scholar will receive monthly allowance, school supplies; school shoes, and allowances for uniform and other miscellaneous fees.

The turnover ceremony was attended by SCG Country Director Mr. Jirasak Kaewubol, other SCG executives, the Ambassador of Royal Thai Embassy H.E. Tull Traisorat, representatives from the Department of Education as well as the mayors of respective municipalities.


Better Learning Space

As a support to the Department of Education (DepEd) campaign of annual school maintenance activities under “Brigada Eskwela”, UPPC have partnered with nearby public schools in Calumpit, Bulacan for repair works and improvement of school facilities last October 2023. This activity aimed to make the school safer and more encouraging learning place for students.

UPPC were able to help four elementary schools namely:

  1. Vicente T. Reyes Elementary School
  2. Palimbang Day Care Center
  3. Calumpang Elementary School
  4. Frances National High School

As part of the “Brigada Eskwela”, UPPC provided the kinder students from the said elementary schools a “Kinder Kit” which includes backpack, notebook, pad paper, crayon, and pencil. Beneficiaries are 150 kinder students last March 2023 and 180 kinder students last December 2023.

Clean Up Drive

As a continuous support to the environmental activity of nearby barangays, UPPC initiated “Clean-Up Drive” project last November 2023 at Brgy. Palimbang Calumpit, Bulacan. This project aimed to help community in ensuring that the farmers can get clean water for irrigation during rice planting season and prevent flooding in the area especially during high tide. The said event was successfully participated by UPPC employees and service providers/contractor volunteers. The company provided all the cleaning tools needed and snacks for all the volunteers.

Donation Projects

As part of its commitment to community building, UPPC made several donations to community last Q2 to Q3 2023:

  • Repair and maintenance of Public Address System at Brgy. Iba Este to immediately address important information to community and to maintain peace and order throughout the Barangay.
  • Turnover of Solar Street light at Brgy. Calumpang as additional in their installed streetlights along farm to market road for the safety and security of their constituents.
  • Fortified goods including: rice, canned goods, milk, sugar, and vitamins were given to 436 underweight and undernourished children in Calumpit Bulacan, in collaboration with the Municipal Nutrition Committee of the Municipality of Calumpit.
